Legal
fees
The cost of success
You have a choice of how you would prefer to pay for our services. It can
be on an hourly rate basis or a contingency fee basis.
Most clients prefer to be charged on a
contingency fee basis, in which case you do not have to pay anything for
legal fees or disbursements until you receive compensation for your
injuries. Your fees will be based on the amount of compensation you
receive. If you do not receive any compensation (and this has happened to
me once in over 25 years of practice) you do not pay anything for legal
fees and disbursements.
This way, you can be assured that you will receive a worthwhile return for
your investment of legal costs.
The amount of the fee for each case will total approximately 35% of the
amount, which you recover for damages and interest. However, if you are
successful in the case, the defendant will usually make a contribution to
your legal costs. This contribution is typically equal to 15% of the
amount agreed to for damages, so your actual costs would end up at
approximately 20 %.
If you wish, we can agree that your liability to pay costs will be limited
to 20% and I will recover the balance of my fee from the costs paid by the
defendant or his/her insurer.
Put our winning team to work for you.
